Aluminum siding was in abundance after World War II.  The increased production of this versatile material during the war years resulted in a surplus, and consequently, the search for new uses for aluminum.  Aluminum siding was born in this era of post-war production, along with cookware, lawn chairs and soda cans.  Aluminium siding did offer certain advantages over wood.  However, these benefits pale in comparison to those offered by high quality vinyl siding in general, and our patented Amazing Vinyl Siding in particular.  A few comparisons between traditional aluminum siding and our product may assist consumers in making the right choice for protecting their home against the elements.

Unlike wood, aluminum siding does not rot—however, aluminum siding does chalk, fade, dent and may require painting over time.  Aluminum siding conducts electricity, which could be hazardous if the wall area comes into contact with electrical wiring such as light fixtures.  Also, aluminum siding may interfere with TV and radio reception.  Such maladies are present with both aluminum and steel sidings.  Probably the greatest disadvantage of aluminum siding as compared with Amazing vinyl siding is the difficulty of replacing damaged sections.  If a wire breaks or a pipe bursts in the middle of a wall, an entire section of aluminum siding must be removed—starting at the top of the wall, working down to the repair area.  It is very likely that dents or scratches will occur as the nails are removed.  It is usually very difficult to obtain a proper color match should you need to replace a section of aluminum siding.
