4. Is there fungus, mold, or mildew growing on the drip edge?  This could be a sign of interior wall problems as well.
   
   
5. Look for swelling and peeling where the boards are joined together.
   
   
6. Check for any insect infestation at exposed horizontal surfaces and corner joints.
   
   
7. Is the siding swelling around the nail heads, making the nails look sunk in?
   
   
8. Are any siding pieces eroding or deteriorating?
   
   
9. Do the siding boards appear to be warped?
   
   
10. Do the boards buckle?
    
    
11. Is the paint peeling, blistering, or flaking?
    
    
12. Is it difficult to get paint to stick to your wood siding?
